Moving Dirt in a real life Bulldozer!
Hard Hat Heroes in Greenville, South Carolina came together to give our Shriners Children’s™ patients a once-in-a-lifetime thrill. The event was sponsored by Alexander Grading, who lived up to their motto: “Building People by Moving Dirt.”
This completely free event for patients and their families was created by Eric Alexander and Melissa Carroll, who generously donated their time, effort and literally “tons” of resources. In fact, Hard Hat Heroes brought in 20 tons of sand, along with excavators, bull dozers, dump trucks — even a medical life flight helicopter — for the children to experience!
Eric said, “What really touched me — [a mother] came up to me and said, ‘You just don’t know how much my son needed this.’ She had tears running down her face, like this was the best day he’s had this year... maybe his whole life.”
The day was such a hit that another one is being planned for next year on April 26. According to Eric, “The cool thing is, I didn’t really know a whole lot about Shriners [Children’s Greenville] before, but the more I learn and the more I dig in, the better it gets.”
Thank you for helping children,
